Clinical refers to clinical medical practice, including pragmatic diagnosis, treatment and palliative care (as opposed to the theory of the same). Clinical operatives are employed in hospitals as doctors, nurses and auxiliaries. Research, and the discovery of new practices, does not feature in the gamut of clinical practice; instead, this branch of medicine works with what is known, tried and tested and aims to deliver the best-quality care to service users across the board.
